Stay At The Historic Park Inn Hotel

The Historic Park Inn Hotel is the last known hotel in the world designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. When you first see this hotel, you will recognize the incredible architectural design as one of Wright’s finest masterpieces. Stay in the heart of Mason City, overlooking Central park, while staying in an incredible property. People travel from all around the globe to stay at this historic hotel, why not add your name to the list?

Visit Music Man Square

You can visit Meredith Willson’s Boyhood Home and see the first Grammy Award that was earned by Meredith Willson in Music Man Square. A fun time to visit is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Dozens of beautifully lit Christmas trees line the museum at Music Man Square during this time of year, making it a highlight of the year.

Dine at Northwestern Steakhouse

Northwestern Steakhouse has been a favorite of many for years. It has been open for more than 100 years and continues to serve the best Greek Steak you will ever have. Arrive near 4:30 pm to grab a place in line and hopefully be seated before they close for the evening. Patrons have been known to drive hundreds of miles to enjoy a meal at Northwestern Steakhouse- that says everything you need to know.

Experience River City Sculptures on Parade

Baird, a Mason City High School Graduate, is responsible for the “Goat Herd” marionette performance in the film, “The Sound of Music.” The grounds for the art museum are also incredible. Take the time to stroll the grounds and embrace the setting.

The downtown area of Mason City is walkable, making it easy to explore. No matter when you visit, take the time to embrace the art and history.
